Chacombe Park Staff and Services

Built in 2002, and with a new wing added in 2006, the care home is finished in traditional style to blend in with Chacombe House, which was built in local stone in 1870.

Inside, the design is modern and spacious, offering the highest level of comfort and luxury. You will be instantly struck by the light and airy atmosphere, as far from the traditional view of a care home as you can imagine.

Bedrooms, all of which come with en-suite facilities, range from comfortable single rooms to luxurious suites with balconies overlooking the adjacent golf course. Five separate sitting rooms and an activities and entertainment centre allow residents to enjoy either a quiet period of reflection, to meet their visitors or to participate in the wealth of activities on offer.

Three dining rooms provide a mouth watering selection of meal choices. Room service is, of course, available at all times, and private parties and celebrations are particularly encouraged. The bar is available for use by residents and their guests.

An abundance of fresh flowers and the highest quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings set us apart from the run of the mill. Our aquarium is a popular gathering point where even the fish have been given names!

The Registered Manager has 16 years experience, is a qualified nurse and has attained the Registered Managers Award. Supporting her is the Head of Care and her deputy, and the in-house company training manager.

Chacombe Park has a total of 18 registered nurses, meaning that fully qualified, professional and experienced staff are on duty at all times. The nurses are encouraged and assisted by training and experience to maintain their NMC registration. Our valued team of care staff, on duty around the clock, are also encouraged to undertake both in-house and external training, many having attained a minimum of NVQ Level 2.

Our dedicated trainer provides staff with all of the training they require to successfully meet the needs of our residents, either from personal knowledge and experience or by utilising external training sources.

The extensive care team is complemented by hotel services and administrative staff, who are also fully trained in their area of expertise, and our landscaped grounds are cared for by our team of Estates workers. The attainment of the Investors in People award signifies the company’s commitment to a dedicated and professional workforce.

Chacombe Park has its own occupational therapist, hairdressing salon and beauty therapist. GPs from the local surgery visit our clinic twice a week (other times by appointment) and we arrange visits by a physiotherapist, chiropodist, optician and dentist, subject to the individual needs of each resident. The home’s minibus is used for the frequent outings, ranging from a local shopping trip to excursions further afield. Residents are encouraged to pursue and develop interests that attract them, and the theatre, gardening and model railway clubs are particularly popular. Guest accommodation is also available for a nominal charge.

The apartments in Chacombe House and the mews are designed for generally fit, older people who require the security of the care home nearby. In the care home itself all levels of need can be met, from someone who requires a little support from time to time, to residents who are totally dependent on staff for all their daily needs. All areas of the home benefit from a modern staff call system.

Staff are provided with all of the latest equipment to assist residents, including hoists, slide sheets and syringe drivers.

Residents suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, frailty, breathing difficulties and terminal illness are frequently cared for at Chacombe Park. The building ideally lends itself to caring for people with a physical disability, with its larger than average bedrooms and extra-wide corridors.

Our fees start from £700 per week, dependent upon the size of room chosen and the level of care required. Once you have visited and can appreciate what Chacombe Park has to offer, we are sure you will agree this represents extraordinary value for money.

""  Comments made by our residents :

The benefit of living here is that
you feel you belong to a community and live in beautiful surroundings.
Any problems? After two and a half years
I can¹t think of any.
It is a pleasure to wake in
the morning to be greeted by everyone with smiles, and any bad dreams I have had are all soon forgotten.
What a wonderful home.
I can't believe how happy everyone is.
